Usage Notice

SOWART wax is simple to use and, in turn, safer than traditional candles, as long as it is used correctly.

Keep the wick away from the rim and bottom of the container, ensuring there is a minimum of 8cm/3.15in clearance between the wicks and at least 1.5cm/0.59in of wax below the wick, so that it does not touch the bottom of the container. This way, if your candle accidentally becomes lit, the flame will extinguish itself when it reaches the end of the wick, without heating the container.

Even with these additional safety features, follow good fire safety practices such as:

  • Remove SOWART wax from the cardboard packaging before use;
  • To place SOWART wax, use a container that is resistant to high temperatures, thermal shock and annealing and is no smaller than 8cm/3.15in wide;
  • Ensure that the tip of the wick that will be lit is 0.5cm/0.197in above the surface of the wax;
  • Light your candle in a visible place and stay close to it while using it;
  • Do not leave your candle lit for periods longer than 3 consecutive hours;
  • Never light your candle near drafts or over anything that could be considered flammable. Always make sure it is in a ventilated space;
  • Keep your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface;
  • Keep the candle out of reach of children and pets;
  • Always leave the candle's melted wax "pool" free of residue;
  • To extinguish the candle, preferably use a candle extinguisher;
  • SOWART Wax is not intended for consumption;
  • SOWART Wax may cause allergic reactions. If you experience allergic symptoms, consult a doctor;
  • Failure to comply with the specifications described above may result in personal injury and/or property damage;
  • The use of SOWART wax and the creation of your own candles is strictly at the user's own risk.
